So first I yanked the thing where the pins stick out so it was even with the base of the microphone. That way you can fit a standard XLR mic cord on there. I had to switch the pin wires on the cable, though. I just played musical pins untill I got something that passed signal.
So I've got a special jerry-rigged cable now I use just for the 666.goldtop said:With regard to the ADK A-51 STD Type V, anybody used one? Would it compare to the C2000B in terms of quality, applications etc.

You guys . . . Chessparov turned me on to the Electrovoice 666, as per some comments by Bob Ohlson at the Gearslutz forum. Anyway, I picked one up not long ago for around $100. Guys, this thing smokes. I'm considering selling every one of my mics and recording everything with it. Not really. But if I had a thousand bucks to spend on mics, I might consider getting 10 of 'em.
tdukex said:Chessrock, how do you like it on vox--male, female, low, high? What mics would you compare/contrast it with?

Kind of aggressive in the midrange like an sm57, but smoother and more professional like an RE-20 or an SM-7. What a fantastic midrange presence this thing has -- just very smooth and pleasing. I can already tell I'm going to like this on guitar amps.
