i still havent gotten many replies to this question i posted a long time ago, so please respond. i'm 15 and am going to start a small homestudio, using just a 4XLR input behringer mixer, my computer using n-track, and some mics. im not sure what mics to get, i've been thinking either 2 sm57's or the fox mxl package at musiciansfriend. i'll only need to record 2 tracks at once at the most (guitar and bass), drums, and vocals. i already have 2 RS mics, i dont know if they could do much though. i know that the sm57's would be great for guitar, vocals, and snare, but would the fox mxl package be a better trade-off with the 2 condensor mics for overheads on my drumset? my limit on mics is rather small, around 150-175. im just looking for the best possible mics for what i need.
