Well, I'm making progress any way.
I finished the second layer of exterior sheathing.
The bricks were delivered friday, and the mason's will be out here thursday.
The 2 exterior doors are SUPPOSED to be delivered tomorrow (monday), So I can install those before the mason's come out.

Maybe another week and a half, and I'll be completely weathered in.....

I hope. :(

Looking good Michael! Seems like every step is painstakingly slow doesn't it??? I bet you'll be finished before me!!

Oh man, is it ever.
The thing is, with concentrating on the exterior, I don't even feel like I'm building a studio.
I feel Like I'm building a ... barn, or something. :(
Sometimes I wish I had a basement. ;)

Everytime I pound in a nail though, I say to myself:
"That's one less nail you have to drive!" :)

Finishing the outside will be another major milestone though.

Well, as much as I'm pleased with my builders work, there were a few times where it seemed nothing was getting done - especially on the finishing stage.

Framing/walls go up "like that" and then it all bogs down when you start "filling it in!"

Looking good though, Michael!!!!

It appears to be getting bigger and bigger Michael :):)

Looking great mate.

cheers
john

This is an appropriate time to mention that, despite my increasing satisifaction with my new home studio, I have an unending jealousy for the likes of a few of you (whose studio projects are detailed on johnlsayers.com).

I wonder if my Home Owner Association will let me turn the pool house into a studio...

Seriously, though, that's looking awesome. :)

Thanks Turnip.
I had hoped to be a lot further along by now than I am , but as long as something happens on it every day, I'm happy.

I REALLY want to get back inside and finish framing the interior walls; particularly the control room walls.
Then I can get the electrical and the A/C roughed in.

Michael - The building is looking awesome! Keep the faith it will be done someday! :) :)

Kevin.

Thanks for the encouragement Kevin.
I'm staying the course. ;)

Looking good. Like any project it's the last 20% of the work that takes up 80% of the time.

Well, here it is Tuesday evening, and I still have no doors!

I called to check on them this afternoon, and the patio door, the that would go in place of the rough opening in the picture, wont be in until Friday.
But the other one, the main front door, wont be in for another 42 days!!!

42 days. I said to the guy, well, what, is the tree not big enough yet? He said, Right off the bat, with no hesitation at all: "No, it needs to grow a little more, its not quite ready to cut down."

Pretty funny! His sense of humor definately de-fused the stuation. So, I kind of hate to do it, but I guess I'll have the brickwork done without the mouldings for the front door.

Oh well, its not like there's nothing to be done while waiting.

Tell me about it!!!!!!!!!!! Finishing took twice as long as it did to frame-up/drywall the place!!!

In my case... finishing IS TAKING twice...

LOL - if it wasn't fun I wouldn't be doing it.
Kevin.
