slow motion in tracking

When I record in aa 2.1 the music that plays is in slow motion?
It comes out fine when I play it back its normal.
is this a latency issue? should i go lower or higher?
Im trying to rap on beat and its playing back slower then it is, this is a bitch.

I had that problem - how are you monitoring? At the time I was using the headphone output on my computer's soundcard - the problem was not latency, just that I didn't have a direct output...

im tracking with headphones plugged into the interface,
and monotiring with speakers thru the back of the the interface.
I havent changed my set up any so I dont understand why this is happening,.

So is the problem that when you are trying to track your vocal, the music is playing back slower than it should?

But then when you just playback the music, it plays normally?
Check your sample rate, make sure the sample rate of the music files is the same as the sample rate you're running your session at.

monitoring latency is only an issue with a signal you're recording, not with something you're just trying to playback.
