That's hilarious but really good at the same time. It makes the hard work we put into this a little less serious... Cheap ass bass no fret buzz.... lol full of lots of great lyrics. Kids in the background - I know that...

The mix is cool too - although the vocals are the focus, the fuzzzies and everything else are mixed good for me....

This needs to be heard!!!!

:cool::cool::cool::cool:

Thanks ido, I'm glad you enjoyed it :). I probably spent like an hour cranming out these lyrics...nice to see the not-so-hard work paid off!

Ok, this one seems a bit slow for me and feels predictable, at the end you mix it up with a few more voices which I think you should have throught the track. Seing as how you have your finger on the keyboard perhaps you could puch in some more effects through it as well.

Dirty bass or guitar is good and sets the tone but does not go too far out of melodic bounds. What would be different and nice maybe would be a scratched record in the background, you know like at the end of an lp when the needle is finishing before liftoff and there are some scratches on the record? The track already sounds old school you may as well emphasise it. Just an idea.

Cheers

Peter

ps: please review my mix new mix for the CANS

Hey thanks Peter :).

Yeah, definitely slow and predictable, but I'm kind of ok with that. At least I trimmed it down to 3 mins. - you should've heard the 5 min version !

I brought in one extra voice at the end, and considered doing that earlier, but didn't. Possibly the wrong move:).

I don't actually have a working keyboard, but if I did I might have utilized one for this track...not sure.

I do have a turntable though and plenty of scratchy records, so adding that bit would probably be easy, but I don't know if I have any open tracks remaining. Thanks again for the ideas :).

Awesome!! Love the drum sound in the intro! Great lyrics, evreything is top notch....

hi heatmiser i really like your song :D i'm listening to your other ones right now, 'Something to remind me' is on right now, awesome!! (cool how it slips into the onedrop in some places) listening again:)

i was just smoking a cigarette thinking exactly the same thing! Most of the songs i've heard on this website are better than what i hear on the radio right now.

p.s., sorry offtopic but last night i was dinking around between songs and accidentally discovered what fairies drinking lemonade sounds like, when i started playing all of a sudden i thought fairies drinking lemonade!!!! it really is fairies drinking lemonade!!! LOL

Thank you very much o nameless one. There is certainly a mixture of pretty good and not so good stuff on there, but it all seemed good at the time. Some of them age better than others.;):)

subliminal messaging lol :)

Yeah, I totally missed the whole lemonade thing :o:), so it had to have been subliminal.

sorry for the sidetrack heatmiser excellent songs

No apologies necessary, and thanks again.

I'm not a fan of rap unless it's light hearted like this one is. This actually doesn't qualify as rap because the music is too good. I really like the lyrics. Funny how sometimes you can just knock them out in a short time and they are great and other times you can labor over them and they sound stale. At least that's how it works with me. I love the growling bass and the little girl in the background asking what you are doing is priceless!

Wig:)

Heat does it again...

It's no secret I'm a big heatmiser fan, and guess what? The dude does it again! Great fuzz bass, drum loop is tight and I love the guitars; especially the hard panned delay bits. The lyrics are hilarious and continue the "Ode to the Clinic" vibe. You could totally use the Godzilla and King Kong metaphor for new lyrics if you wanted to, maybe even make it about the two having a throwdown in Tokyo or something. Either way, just a cool piece of work. Outta sight Heat!

Thanks Wig :). You're right, this doesn't qualify as rap...this is more like some guy involved in vaguely rap-like activities.

I agree with your point...sometimes it applies to a whole song. Typically the ones that come easiest sound the best and the ones I spend a ton of time on just never quite get there. Thanks again!

Oh, it's my fan :). Thanks for checking in JRSIV. I am really happy you enjoyed this one. Yes, kind of similar to ode to the clinic. I think someone earlier thought this was the same tune. They are smewhat different of course, but perhaps not enough. I would love to do an entire "album" about japanese movie monsters some day.
