Hi everyone :) ,

This tune was mainly an exercise in trying to develop some usable guitar tone. I think that I am getting a little closer to an acceptable sound. I recorded a simple basic rhythm section, and then focused on the lead guitar tone. Let me know what you think….I now realize that the lead guitars are mixed too loud….and yes the end of the second solo fizzles out…but these were single takes just searching for a better tone…...so how did I do? All comments welcome!

Thanks,
Dara

Sounds good to me, I would like a bit more mid (sounds a tad muffled ) but that's my personal taste. nice job

I'm glad you didn't dial up NWOBHM #3 or similar.
A teeny little more mid if it's for the blues.
Tasteful.
Listen to lead solos on almost any Budgie song, (particularly Parents from Never Turn Your Back On A Friend),from their 1st 5 LPs for an excellent template.

Bump!

yvesa and rayc:

Thanks for listening. Yes, I too think that it needs more mids / highs.

Anyone else lend some ears before it drops like a stone!

Thanks,
Dara

Hey Dara,
I think that the tone sounds good. That is such a subjective matter, you have to just please yourself. As far as the mix sounded, i think that it sounded pretty good. In my opinion, the guitar should be loud in the mix, especially when there are no vocals. I thought that you did well! Keep them coming!
