OK, I recorded a song on my dh24 hard disc recorder, dumped it into sonar. Then went back and added backup to it on the hd 24 alesis.I them via ethernet ftp imported the backup tracks into sonar. The only problem is the time is not lining up.I try to click, hold and slide it to align with the rest of the song but it wont. I can move the track forward and backward but it is liike the track has these dots that I can only bump the track,I cant move the track the amount I want.I know there is A WAY TO DO THIS. help. Thanks,Jim

Look on the tool bar and see if the Snap To Grid or Snap To Zero Crossing is selected. That may be fucking with you.

As Track Rat said, it will the the snap to properties. This can be very useful and also a big hinderance. If you want to move the track precisely, try using absolute time with the frames set to 0.

no luck

Under the tools I have no snap tp grid or anything like it. It is all changing audio format and tuner. If I right click on the track I want to move I get a "snap set off,set to now time" ??? Will this help? Jim

The Snap To Grid is on the Tool BAR, not the Tools Menu.

See the circled icon in the picture.

You can also slide a clip using the Slide Command on the Process Menu. Set it to "ticks" and you can manage very small movements quite easily. Positive numbers slide it right (later), while negative numbers slide it left (earlier).

got it!

Thanks for the help! I right clicked and selected snap grid I think it was.A window comes up with clock measurements. You can adjust the time up or down by miliseconds. The other problem was the one lead singer(there are 3) for that particular track starts the song started a bit early, when the second lead comes in I was able to line up the 2 chorus parts fine.I takes a little time to match it up perfect but it is easy to do really. Thanks, all is well.
