Hey gang, just joined your forum……post number one !!!!!

Id love some feed back regarding the song below, specifically song arrangement, mix and anything else really.....

cool beans
Simon

welcome! good tune there. good picking & singing. Bringin it back to basics is always refreshing and a real challenge, that`s a niche that I favor. In this tune its all done tastefully, it gets a bit crowded in a few places but nothing is really trying to dominate the piece too much. very nice collab'. :)

Pretty cool tune. I dig slide.:)

Hard to give any mix advice on a low bitrate mp3. I didn't hear anything terrible goin' on in there.

How do you critique arrangement on 12 bar?:D

Nice geetar playing and tones. I'm usually pretty bored by blues and I'm on my second listen, so that says something. Toki said the mix is crowded - I hear where he's coming from and agree from a traditional blues sense. I'm torn - I kind of like the full arrangement.

Biggest criticism is the drum beat doesn't have much if any variation. Some fills and some extra snare hits if nothing else would help out a lot.

Cool, thanks for the comments folks !

The devil syncopation is always on my back, guess it is time to get deeper into Midi (or find a legal way of having my neighbors stuffed !)!

When I was talking about arrangement (and I don’t know if I have used the term in its correct context), I meant instruments coming in and out. One comment I had is that the lead guitar peters out a bit at the end. I was trying to make room for the slide to breath but hey ho one mans meet is another mans poison and all that!

Thanks
Simon

One thing I noticed is that the ending just....ends. If you are going to feather off then feather off to zero before ending the file.

Cool

I love slide playin.
A lot of Metal and Pseudo genx types around here who think 12 bar is too SIMPLE for thier massive brains.
I don't know how such huge melons are supported by those pencil-thin necks...............

Great first post.
Seriously, you can get a lot of tips on mixing and recording from here.

Good to meet ya
