Skype phones

Update: the iPevo phone didn't cut the mustard. I'm sending it back tomorrow because:
* the phone is short like cell phones so the mic is by you're cheekbones. I know this is normal but I don't like it.
* it doesn't let you know by any monitoring (like a normal phone does) if the person you're talking to is still there. It always sounds like you've been disconnected and if the person you're taking doesn't say something after every sentence you think you've been cut off.
* it doesn't monitor my voice when I talk so I can't tell if I'm talking too loud or not loud enough.
* the headphone jack never worked, which is actually good, because it makes a great excuse to send it back and they'll reimburse the shipping charges.
This is it, I don't recommend it:

I have a Logitech phone coming this week and we'll see how that goes.
NOTE: all of the problems are with the phone, Skype is great, no problems with it at all and I'd recommend it.

We shall see. Have you all ready marked off your paces to 950 ft. in anticipation?

I'm not real hopeful on the range, as long as it goes 30' I'm happy. The iPevo phone didn't have a good range.

I just got back from the post office with phone #2, the one from Logitech. Right off the bat I like the physical feel of this phone better. It's in the charger.

I'm curious...I just popped for Magic Jack another year, $19.95.

I never use it much but have 911 in the house on numerous phones is cool.

Skype would be great for my international calls.

Its kind of scary how easily I signed up and my Magic Jack started working again, no human intervention....just paid them online, and the software zipped and zapped and bam, it was working again with all my calls, voice mails, etc..etc..

I let my account run out over a month or so, one year contract expired, and it went dead. Luckily the same number was download and all that. It kept everything, every call , every voice mail, ...neat invention. and cheap.

If you have Hi-Speed Internet service, and need a home phone, Magic Jack is pretty cool...leaves more money for recording gear :D
