Im recording this band for $15 a song, and I'd like some opinions and suggestions as to how I'm doing and what I should do.
I used various Nady mics and two Shure (pg52 and sm58) to mic the drums. I used a Yamaha mixer and used the main output into a line in of my computer. I wanna see how to improve this song in order for the band to get their money's worth and also to over ride local competition here
that's how that song was recorded.
Currently, I started using a Nady 8 in/ou preamp and midiman 2044 soundcards and a few new Shure mics. (including sm57).

His guitar is horribly out of tune. The trombone worked out alright recording wise. Everything in general needs some body. Try boosting around 150-200Hz to give it a little more body. The hi hat sounds like something scratching at a dry rumply ass. I dont know what you can do about that.

Ill replay and record that trombone for yah if yah want. As a joke maybe? Tell them you were working on the EQ or something har har har.

Sounds cheaply done but it is balanced. Just no body an anything. Tons of high end and very harsh nasty high end at that. But givin the equipment you were working with its really not your fault.

I play in alot of ska and i like it but the guitar is so out of tune and they arnt extremely tight. But its getting me into the play my trombone right now.
