Hey all,

I recently acquired a macbook to do my recording an sadly I have to leave the world of Sonar as I just don't want to over stress things by running parallels to work through the projects. My question was, what would be something that's similar to Sonar's interface that can be run seamlessly on a macbook? Just looking for something that has the same midi and recording functions that I could adapt to after being with Sonar some time.

Also, I have a lot of midi soft synth selections using Cakewalk TTS. Are these synths transferable to be used with other DAW's or is this a niche niche?

Thx for any help!

I'm not one to offer any options on a Mac DAW that mirrors Sonar, but I have read where Cakewalk TTS can be used as a GM Midi module and how some other apps like Acid will recognize (and use) it as a DXi - I've never tried it, but perhaps you could post a question on some of the other DAW forums? Here's a thread I found: KVR: Roland TTS-1 GM module: usable outside Cakewalk Music Creator?

Good luck :)

I guess you could use Cockos Reaper for mac as it can read almost everything. I am not sure but give a try.
