Here's a tune I was hoping I could get some mixing feedback as to the low end.

Is it sounding right? I'm on headphones and I never seem to do it correctly.

Feel free to list any other problems as well.

Thanks!

To me, sounds full but not boomy. Pretty nice if you ask me.

Sounds great on my system. Kicks the sub just right to give it that thump feel. Really nice.

I do hear a lot of energy in the 140-170Hz range and also below that. Cutting 144Hz by 4dB seemed to help.

Good song and mix - Kind of "Kid Rock"ish. For me, it's too close to being "in the can" to post any negative comments. :)

Has a lovely rhythm to the song and well balanced.

I hear a bit of reverb in the low end. Have you tried EQ the low end a bit from reverb. Just a suggestion.

damn...where's that precision on my tracks!?! jk

Nice song here. Just listening on work headphones, so no pinpoint precision critique available. You are the performer, writer, and engineer behind this?

EASLERN: Thanks for checking it out!

DM60: Thanks for the listen DM60.

BOULDERSOUNDGUY: Thanks, that’s some great specific feedback. I’m already scooping about 3db on a super wide scale around 200 on my master bus…you think another 4db at 144hz will sweeten it up? Gonna give it a shot. thanks!

CRAZY LUKE: I think this is the first time one of my songs has ever been compared to kid rock. Awesome… Thanks for taking the time to listen and reply!

ANOOPBALL: I’ll check the low end EQ. I usually try and roll that off, but perhaps that’s where I’m getting my extra energy. Thanks!

ANDRUSHKIWT: Thanks for checkin’ it out, and yes. I’m the performer, writer and engineer. I’ve got another buddy in my band (Bag of Toys) that helped with things like bass and a few guitar parts. We like to work on each others tunes as we feel like we make them better…the whole two brains better than one.

Thanks people!

This is soooooo nice! I really like that subtle git-fiddle riff, the vocal is excellent, mix sounds great to me, low end fits just right on my rig. Don't touch a thing!

I don't know if it's just from being an old fart or what, but I'm not too keen on the vocal delay repeats throughout and would maybe knock that off after the first verse or two, but this is your baby and you should do what you like. Everything else is so nice I can probably get used to the repeats, and though they are not my favorite part you did execute them quite well.

I think I'd do cuts on tracks. Not every track needed the same thing.

I wondered about Boulder's comment, so I looked at it as well as listening to it. It's got lots of low energy with a recurring peak around 200Hz, like he said. I put a low shelf on it at 200 Hz and cut it 1.5. I didn't like it, cuz it lost that low stuff that you feel as much as hear. So I put a one-octave peak filter at 200Hz and cut it 3 dB. It impinged on the guitars, so I didn't like it. I think you're going to have to EQ the individual tracks a bit to reduce some of that energy around 200 Hz, but not the whole mix.

Sweet tune.

Super song and performance. I wouldn't little. Like bouldersoundguy, I hear a buildup in the low mids in some parts of the song. It's not bad but feels a pushy. That acoustic guitar sounds sweet.
