ermm k i now have a mic AT2020 which has xlr connector and balanced cable
the mic is really good but i wanted to get a cheap preamp with phantom power and i came across the
BEHRINGER Micropower PS400
i see that the mic will connect directly into it but i dont see where that would connect into the soundcard? what cable will it take? 3.5mm? i doubt it so could any1 plz help me out? thnx

That unit appears to be a phantom power supply only, not a preamp. At the bare minimum, you should look at the ART Tube MP or Behringer MIC100 preamp with phantom power. The mic connects to the pre with an XLR-XLR cable and then, depending on the preamp outputs, would connect to your soundcard with an adapter cable; either XLR-1/8"TRS or 1/4"TRS-1/8"TRS.
