Thanks Polska and Tim for listening.

The harpsichord on the right might be a little hot in relation to the violins at times.

1. Good ears, its too loud

2. Its a combo of an acoustic guitar and steel guitar patches. And it needs to go, I dont like it. :( I am looking into getting another keyboard, I will swap out some sounds.

I may be wrong, but I believe most of those violins are owned by people who are very well off, and generally not violinists.
Besides, it's a great investment I'm sure.....

100% correct. Rich people buy them for investments and loan them to schools, symphonies and young soloists. Mine came with my job, I was one of 2 lead violins in an orchestra and both positions came with Strads. The violin is now in another orchestra, the Dallas Symphony has it.

Beautiful! :)

Yes - although I read this before listening, it did stick out when it was more by itself. When the violins were playing it blended quite well.

Quite a beautiful piece David - one of my favorites of yours so far. Playing is excellent as always, very inspirational. The violins sound like a million bucks - strad or no! I'm getting to like this Faure guy....

Very Enjoyable Mr.K...

I really think your a great arranger, as well as a Playa ;)

Very fine work.

I dont have much more to add

Thanks very much for listening, Naka and Gerry
I'm getting to like this Faure guy....

He is like the Billy Joel of classical music: non-threatening, not too deep, not controversial, not too complicated, hummable tunes. Some people may despise certain musicians and styles like Zappa, Stavinsky, Yes, Country, even the Stones or Zep, but I doubt one person despises Billy Joel... or Faure. :D :D What's not to like here, a hummable classical tune in less than 4 minutes?? :D

I ve decided that some tunes have to be in the "give the people what they want" school. We do it all the time at work, why not at home? Andre Rieu ptobably plays this song. :p

David,

This is amazing work, man. I don't think at that level it's so much a matter of nit picking it. I think it's just ready to be listened to :).

The instrumentation gives it this sort of colonialesk sound. Very cool.

Another good one David.
You've been quite fecund of late.
I've downloaded this but assume a CD will be forthcoming in the short term. I'm looking forward to it.
There was a doco on the Govt. TV station this weekend gone about what makes a strad a strad - very interesting - debunked the varnish & shape myths entirely more to do with the uneven thickness of the boards in relation to the vobrations and the focus of vibration/resonance i the middle of the beast giving that well rounded and "warm" sound.
they also did a blind test of some "experts" - they all favoured a non strad (2 out of the 5 played were strads too if I recall correctly).
A lot was saisd of preconceptions, expectations and playing UP to the the standard expected for someone using a strad.
it was sad to see the 4 in a museum hanging by their necks - but that's better than in a vault as an investment.

Thanks for Checkin it out, Lee and Ray.

I was very fecund when I googled fecund to see what it meant. :D  :D

It will be a while. I really want to concentrate on a better sound, and I will re-record some of this.

Happens all the time. They are valued like works of art. They also vary by instrument, the one I have didnt have a lot of power but had a nice sound. My current fiddle has a harsh, raw sound, but its like a cannon. Its very powerful, which is what I need at work.
