Hi I got this Shure Unidyne 3 545 mic on E-bay recently for a song (well £16!!) and I'm just wondering if anyone else has had any experience with it..
I bought the mic untested, (just took a risk) and when I opened the mic some of the wires were disconnected. It also had the old Amphenol? 4 pin connector..I checked out this site for tips and went to Shure's site for wiring details. Took the Amphenol connector off which I'm going to replace with an XLR and also connected the wires green/yellow and black to the top capsule as per Shure's details.
Now for a little help. I've got 4 wires at the bottom of the mic. black which is ground, blue, red and white. Anyone know how to wire this combination to XLR?? I've been trying with a little success, used red, white and black (ignored blue) but the output sounds really low and trebly.
Would really appreciate a few tips.
Thanks for your time..
