I'm just wondering how's the quality for studio. I have 58 but I don't like using for recording. Please share your thought...thanks!

Farview Well-known member Apr 11, 2007 #3 I have no experience with this mic, but looking at the response charts, the 87 will be a much brighter mic. Whether that's a good thing or not will depend on your voice. It's a condenser so, unlike the 58, it will require phantom power.
