Is this mic good quality to record acoustic guiatar and also to record guitar cabs? Will it get the full sound of the guitar amp? Any comments about the mic? What other mics are out there that are good for miking guitar cabs?

I've got a pair of the 109's that I use for OH's on my drums but have also used them on acoustic guitar. They did a great job. Had a good full sound and didn't sound too hyped.
Never tried em on cabs. I usually use the ol' 57/ DI combo and blend to taste. :D
jmho.........

they sound great on acoustic, and good if you pair them with a dynamic on a cab.

I've used them solo on a cab. Works fine if you get the placement good. I personally love the mics on many sources, gets the most use in my studio.

Ksm 109

I rented one and experimented with it on my Martin Shenandoah D2832. I was pretty happy with the results...... until I borrowed an SM81 from a friend's studio and later a MXL603s.

SM81 - smooth silky, needs absolutely no EQ,a GREAT Acoustic Guitar mic

KSM109- a little jangly compared to the SM81, but if I hadn't heard the SM81,
I could have been perfectly happy with this mic

MXL603S - I think I like this one better than the KSM109 and it is cheaper, not silky smooth like the SM81, but not as jangly as the KSM109
