Shouldn't I be able to control recorded signal leve with Delta 1010LT?

I'm just curious why I can't get the 1010LT to adjust the record level?
I think I've tried everything in the 1010LT control panel, but no luck.
I suppose it's normal for the gain slider control for the track being recorded to have no effect on what's being recorded in AA 2.0?
Am I on crack or what?

Oh, by the way, this was but just one reason I fed my Delta's into a desk, it's just so much darn easier!!
