i was playing through my friend's deVille, and i sorta spilled a cup of coffee all over the top of the amp. where the knobs are.

No sprarks and no shorts, but the thing wouldn't turn on, turns out the fuse is blown.

So... although i cleaned it out really carefully, and left it to dry in the sun for 3 hours, could i harm the amp any farther by replacing the fuse and trying to turn it on? there's no more coffee but... don't wanna kill it.

friggin coffee...

thanks in advance guys, cheers

It has already proved that the fuse works as it is supposed to so put a new one in, if it blows again you have a problem, if not be thankful.
I have a rule at gigs, practise, anywhere, no liquid near amps, I have knocked peoples drinks off speakers in pubs, they get the message quickly.

Southern Comfort is rock n roll.

Cabernet Sauvignon is Acoustic

Courvoisier is Hip Hop

Coffee is like, letting your dad re-live his youthful fantasy using your amp. Were you eating donuts too?

hohoho

my dad never had a rocker-youth... but thanks for the drink tips, that's the kind of stuff you just can't learn from books.

gonna try a new fuse today, thanks a lot guys

cheers

Try the new fuse, but be cautious. If it comes on but makes strange/loud noises, or if a guitar through it sounds scratchy or distorted where it should be clean, turn it off immediately and take it to a tech for cleaning. You're probably busted even if it works OK, though; it will probably smell like coffee every time it gets warmed up.

Well

I hope it was decaf or the amp may be restless and jittery :D
