Jackson Professional Flying-V, black, local pawn shop, $139.
Should I? I'm not real sure what they cost new, but it seems like it would be a good second guitar, as a backup or an alternately tuned... good deal, or no?

Why not?

If it doesn't play well you could always make a really neat-looking cocktail table out of it. :D

The Jackson professionals are the korean(?) made ones. i have one its string threw body.$139 is a good price depending on the condition. plug it in to check out the electronics( bring a small amp) if everything is in good condition -thats a really good price. i think new they go for $300.

$300 huh? Back in the day Jacksons were $2000 new, that sucks. I thought I might get a REALLY good deal. I might buy it, cant be too bad for the price.

AMS is selling new Yamaha Pacificas with maple necks for $149......

Gidge, my buddy......

What's with you and this damned Yamastrat?

Someone says "cheap strat", you say Pacifica.
Someone said Kramer, you said Pacifica.
Tube thought he found a Mustaine V hangin' on the wall at DePrez.
What do you say?

Pacifica!

I'm gonna buy one right now. Do they come in EVH stripes? :D

Hey man, I'd pick Yamaha over fender any day. Mine plays so tight it's amazing for what I spent on it.

I consider myself to be an afficianado of cheap guitars. I own an 87 Squire Strat and an Ibanez 170. Both are very cheap and both play very, very well. I got the Ibanez for $130 and it's the best guitar I've ever owned (after you replace the pickups). And I'm not a complete retard about guitars. I've been playing for 14 years. :D $140 sounds like a steal to me for a Jackson even though I hate their necks. If you play the thing and you like the neck, buy it. If the pickups suck more than my ex-wife just replace them.
