This is a pretty rough intro I made that involves a couple riffs I want to use.
Not really an intro I guess. It would be a chorus or verse. I thought I'd throw it out there before I get to far.

Not really pleased with the guitar sound. But I am trying to fit 5 guit tracks :o I just got a 609 silver a while back and its got a jar sound to it too me.

Anyway. thinl I should try to finish a song off this or am I doomed    Not really a style I've ever done so it's sort of an exercise unless I throw the switch and run with it.

I say go for it - this sounds like chorus, then a post chorus groove....or something like that.... It's catchy and metal-ly, I like it!

 :D  :D

Thanks Ido. I am thinking chorus too & poss the opening of the song. I let the one octave up riff ring out in case I wanted it. But I'm going to mute it. so and see where it goes. I don't want to get stuck in E just cause of that;)
Don't know if I would want it to break down like that either?

Thanks for the vote. Hopefully I'll get a chance to work on it some more. I have a couple good lyrics to work with so far.

I keep waiting for Mike Patton to kick in.

Good riffs, mang.

Had to look Mike Patton up:) Only ever heard Faith No More.

Hmmmmm :D

Yeah that's a cool riff and feel to the tune, I'd say the EQing/mixing on the guitar is almost there, just some minor tweaks, but overall I'd go with it, has some potential for a full tune. Cheers

YUP, there's a song in there. You do need to work on the tones but you have a chorus that begs for a little more funk and a verse is just waiting.

Thanks Snakedog & RayC.

Well I'm on it. I worked a bit more on it last night, to my wifes dismay :D

It's reall ahrd for me not to start mixing this (and never finish the song) so I know what you mean guys;)

Well Ray, You know I like to funk it up a bit but,,,,,,, I may go metal god :D
I'm on a kick latley of doing styles that are different for me, so We'll see.
I feel the funk for sure though :D

Of course I'd keep it and develop it. This is the kind of riff I wish I could write.

Updated file

Thanks Zacanger & Rami :)

Still just writing it. Haven't eq'ed or mixed really. Drums are still a click track

This is what I did this morning. I think I'll lay some vox down and come back to the drums then mix it up. Theres small break with no bass for now. Waiting to see what happens there.

Enjoy this horrid mix :D Or lack there of.

Nice. Cymbal is pretty annoying, but the guitars are cool.

Ya, there's been zero time spent on the drums :D It's a mono clicker ;)
Believe it or not that's supposed to be a ride

Will be replaceing that file as I work along.

Coolness. A ride, eh? On an only slightly related note, how d'you think I'd do selling drum samples? Think anyone here'd be interested?

Well you would have plenty of competition and who knows how much demand.

I personally just got drumagog a while back. So for me I can just export individual tracks from Fruity loops & change them if I want.

I can't see ever needing more.

For my Solo projects I use canned drums alot, but for band stuff I use our drummer :D When I can get him off his ass ;)

I like the two overlapping melody lines. The tone is thin though. How are you miking the amp?

Well some of it could be me eq'ing too :o
I am using a e609 silver and I'm not very used to it. I mormaly would put a 57 pretty far to the outside of the speaker against the grill of a single 12. That's how I have the 609 but I think I need to mess with it more. I haven't done any reall low boost on the eq so I have some room to work. I have boosted the hi's a bit. Trying to get used to new monitors at the same time as well.
Because of referrance matierial I started with the new monitors down 1db on the high shelf. I may have to try setting it back at zero and re-eqing the song depending on how this sounds out in the world.

Too much going on at once :D :D :D

Thanks for the listen Track Rat. Any suggestions for the 609? First time I've really used it.

K another little update.

A little thicker guits per Track Rat.

I'll get the drums later zacanger;)

I know there's an apperant volume change between chorus & verse..... But I think vox will fill it.

Thanks for the input guys.

Back tomorrow.
