I talked a guy w/ an unopened baby bottle w/ shockmount & pop filter down to $430. It sounds like a damn good deal to me, considering it's brand new. I like the sound of the b. bottle to my voice, but then again, i haven't put many mics in front of me.

should i be spending 400 on something else?

Sounds like a very good deal to me -- I'd get it if I were you, probably, maybe :D

grr i hate the last two words of that.

Depends on the application. $430 is very good for a Baby Bottle, but it picks up a lot of room. Do you have a great sounding room? If not, a Shure SM7 would be ideal at $300, or an AT4033 in the same price range used.

i have two spaces, one for instruments/drums and one for vocals.

the instrumental room has wooden walls and a vaulted wooden ceiling with concrete floors and a rug under the set. the vocal is a padded booth.

if it picks up alot of room i think im in good shape. i'll be sure to let you know when it arrives! :)

thanks guys
