Hi,

I am new to this forum and have a question regarding the fostex 820
My setup is based around 2 Akai dr4vr's linked with a M-audio Delta1010 giving me 16 tracks for recording and playback.
I'd like to record and playback on the same console
I used to borrow a spirit live console for recording in the past, but I'd like to have my own console now. I happened to come across a fostex 820 console wich is within my budget and I have a few questions..
1. it has tape sends and returns, but no tape switch. is it possible to switch between mic input and tape input without repatching? I'd really like to have that option on a console (could I add this switch myself maybe?)
2. I believe it has 24V phantom power. Is this a problem with modern condensor mics?
thanks,
