should I be using two hard drives or just one big hard drive?

should i be using two hard drives for music production or one big hard drive?does it matter?I was thinking mabe one 80gig hd instead of two 40 gig hd's.
 
I would go with the 2 40's.....use the c drive for your operating system, all applications and programps, etc....use the d drive for the audio files only (the .wav files, not the actual recording software).....
 
I tend to agree. And it was also mentioned by other members here. You have to make sure each hard drive is plugged to its own IDE channel, so no slave drive. Partitions on each drive may also be in order.
 
Definatly go with 2 hard drives. One for programs, and one for audio. Get a hard drive for audio with 7,200 RPM speed.
