Mix is coming along well...I'd add a touch more 1.5-2.0Khz on the vocals to get them to stand out a bit more. The drums add a lot of life to the mix, good job there.

Kudos on your arrangement/writing, Terry's vocals, and the contributions by Faderbug and Greg (?). As mentioned previously, this is another classic original tune ...

I like it. There's a cool guitar bit at 1:16 on the far left that caught my attention, but that's just a trifle really. The whole thing sounds good.

Instrumental bit at 2:00 is nice. Cool, whatever you did to the flute there.

Nice work, man.

Hey Ray, just gave it a quick listen on cans right now. You got the music out ahead of the drums a little....I think. Just a few ms. Somethings not lined up properly. The drums themselves sound lined up, but they're not lined up with the music.

Ido - Ta mate - I've tweaked a bell across that range for a couple of dBs - it'll be in the next link.
XLR - Thanks - the little eastern noodle? That's Faderbug - there's a dusting of those bits in the mix.
Greg - I dropped it in on the spot - there must have been a tiny latency issue across continents - I've nudged it the tiniest bit & will post the results. I'm with Tim on that though - It had a "groove thang" going for it but you can compare & contrast to determin which is right for you. It'll be your call! But for now - get some sleep - you've worms to impale upon the morrow!
Terry's actually playing with a melody for the 1st set of lyrics so there may be A & B versions yet.
Thanks folks - I'll post the update presently.

I wish I'd downloaded the original file - which is what I usually do- as it's hard to compare versions without A/B'ing them back to back. Guess that's an advantage of using file hosting like lightningmp3.com... the old versions are still there after the fact for comparison.

New version sounds way better Ray! I paid special attention to keep the kick and bass locked in, and now you've got em lined up and it sounds great. The ending "bam bam bam bam" is locked in too. Sounds good. I like it.

At 1:20 there's something weird going on. Sounds like the vocal line is kind of hot so a compressor is squashing it down and dropping everything else with it. Same at 2:33.

Other than that, it's moving along nicely. I'm going fishing. :)

P.S. - I use whole crabs for bait, not worms. :D

Greg,
I moved the track the smallest amount cakewalk would allow - just a 32nd note in time - worked a treat eh!
I'll check that little issue out now - Terry was going to retrack the vocal so if it's related to that track I'll ensure there aren't any problem before lobbing it in.

Yup. Worked fine. There should be some kind of "snap on/off" feature that allows you to move tracks in minute amounts without having to follow a grid. I'm not familiar with Cakelwalk, so I don't know how they do it, but I'm sure it's there somewhere.

I like how it's turning out...nice, sorta spacey vibe going on...

My only nit is the vocals seem on top of the song sometimes, but not always.
Get them to gel a bit better, and it will be really good.

Fun tune...nice job kids...:D

Sounds Cool

No comments it's Psyctastict, really dig it. Love the flute had to be done really hey, nice as. Also like the nice fuzz vibe. Suits very well.

Yep....I agree.... more vocals please!!
I know, I'm always asking for more.... Unless it's instrumental, then I'll focus on what ever is playing the melody.
Great song Ray.. yay!!

~Shawn

B sounds good Ray... I could dig a bit more vocals on the mix, but the rest sounds great!

Ah. I thought I'd sneak in a reduced vocal & get away with it but you folks were LISTENING1 Not fair. OK,
I'll pop the vox a bit & look at melding them a little as well. Does anyone concur with l'chien homme regarding the vox sitting, intermittently, astride rather than being a part of the whole?
I mean I trust you Dogman, but I need a cross reference.
MoreVox done..

Greg, I found the "ducking" it seems the final compressor I was using, ever so lightly I thought, was doing it when the vox became particularly powerful - it wasn't evident - I think it's because there are some subsonic artifacts in the original vocal track - it's happened before. I'll have to spend some time to fix it.
