It's a preliminary mix but any comments, suggestions, criticisms etc are welcome.

dude this is the first time I hear your stuff! I dig ray. It's way the hell out there. Perhaps if Jim Morrison had lived to make music in the 80s kind of out there. The mix is very 80s.

I guess my only suggestion, which really counts for little is:

I guess I'm waiting for the mix to take off. More of a story using panning, volume, phase shifts, FX and what have you. Just to break up the repitition a little bit. Again, I really like this.

Sounding good Ray. Bottom end is much tighter now. I like tight bottoms. :D

Lee, I know what you mean - but it was just a song sketch & it became textured rather than extended. Quite short for a PB piece too. There are times when I'd like to develop a section &, for example, let FB go bonkers with that distorted guitar.
When I've settled the mix I might come back for a cut & loop extension or two just to see if it might fly.
You're not the 1st to mention morrison - the lyrics certainly have that impressionistic edge musically I don't know.
Greg, Thanks mate - excellent little tweak suggestion & it does work on the flabby arse - from slapping cheeks to "buns of steel". Now where did I leave that rectal thermometer?

Hi ray, listening to the mix in post #40.....I really dig the psycadelic vibe this songs has....shades of The Doors and early Floyd....mix sounds very expansive on my little system here at work, I'm sure it will sound great on a bigger set up ...things are really meshing well...one of my favs from you!!

I've been tuning in during the evolution of this song and while I can't exactly follow all of the tweaking, I find the sound sort of addicting. I remember when the lyrics didn't match the vocals, and when you edited them. Nice to read the real lyrics along with hearing them. All of the spacey elements really work in this song. Love the eastern thing FB did and the 60's organ sound and the flute. Definitely a keeper, ray.:)

Very Space Hog. Vocals need more high end in my opinion, to add definition. Other than that no complaints here. The guy who sang for INXS, his vocals would sit very nice with this tune

queepy,
Thanks mate - the basis of this was done on a PIII at 48'n'16. The work done by Fader & Greg has been a boon.

Xeries
It has been a process hasn't it? But that's the point I suppose. This is the most fundamental collab I've done as it's was only a sketch when the 1st additions were emailed in. Thanks for your kind words & continued listening!

I can't tweak the vocals at present as the FX on them will ess all over the place. Hope to do something about that soon though. By suf=ggesting Michael Hutchins do you mean the vocals ae a little constricted? Sorry REALLY bad joke I know. They just roll out..& there are so many on that fellow's demise...
