I have a dell dimension 3000 (2.8 Ghz 256 Mb Ram 40Gb HD Int. Audio & Graphics), a behringer B-1 condensor mic, art tube mp preamp..I have all this into my computers default mic slot...i have 250 $ to spend, how could i make the setup better without hurting the quality.. i have used this setup and have been mad at the quality of the background...too much background noise..how can this help ? also i record in my garage is it better if i move to a smaller room?

DON'T USE the default mic in. YUCKY POOH!
Getan interface and either go into the STEREO in of a good soundcard OR USB OR BETTER STILL buy a dedicated recording card.

If your garage is anything like a normal gargage, unless you treat it, you will want to move somewhere less reflective.

what is a good interface ??
i purchased a lambda usb interface and it didnt work well..i exchanged it and am gettin a new one..if this doesnt work what ones would you guys recommend ?
