Hello All,
Im in need of serious help...
I have a M-Audio Fast Track Pro audio interface and a Berhinger UB802, a microphone, and a couple of Fostex Monitors.
My main problem is getting the connection thru to the computer. I have Windows XP Pro with the OS installed. Now i can hear the mic out the monitors perfectly i have my mic connected through to my mixer now the problem is getting the right ins and outs to get this through to my computer.
I did have it connected at one point but then it only records thru the left speaker and cant figure out how to get it to the right side. It may just be a simple solution but i just cant seem to figure this one out, if anybody can help me it would be very appreciated.

Thanks in ADV!

Tony

PS: Posted is a couple of pics of the interface and mixer if anyone can just tell me where all of my cabels should go that would be even better. Thanks!

Well, I don't have either of these units, but I'll give it a try. I'm not sure you even need a mixer. Can you run through the m-audio only? Are you only recording a mic? It doesn't look like the mixer adds any more capability than what the interface gives you already.

The mic is a mono signal, so it will only go to one channel, left or right.

If you're going to use the mixer, I always recommend going through the interface via the Tape In and Tape Out. Be sure to select the line level option on the inputs.

Read the manual, it should discuss various configurations.

Cheers,

yea if i hook it up straight i only get it out of one way i need it going in left and right thats why i try to do it through the mixer but if there is a way to do that than i can bypass on the mixer??

Yes only recording a mic..

Yes only recording a mic..

Do it in the DAW. Plug your mic into the M-Audio, create a Mono track in your DAW and assign it to the channel your mic is on. You should get a mono signal out when you monitor the DAW.

But, I don't have any experience with that model, so I mght be wrong. Be sure to read the manual.

Cheers,

are you're wanting to record a stereo track or record two tracks simutanously? if you go through the mixer then use the l/r outs into the interface & that should work but i think you'd be better off just getting a splitter and just go into the interface.no need to feed the mic into two different preamps.if you're wanting to record two separate tracks like guitar and vocals that's a different story.
