setting up a vsti, quick question

I am going to be getting kontakt 3, does cubase auto detect vsti instruments in your computer when i hit f11 to bring up the vst instruments, or is there something special i have to do?
 
Cubase usually finds them all ok if they install properly. You shouldn't have any trouble with Kontakt :)
 
THanks a lot for the reply scruffy, do you if its better to use kontakt as a vsti or rewire? thanks!!!!!
 
I'd go the VSTi route. I find Rewire crashes more often and it's just easier having everything organised all in one file. That's just my experience on my system though, YMMV
