Hello:
I'm using my laptop (HP w/XP-PRO, 1.8 ghz amd turion/2gb ram/7200rpm hd) for live performances via firepod. Since I use up to 4 instruments in a given night I need a sort of "virtual mixer" that allows access to all 8 channels on my firepod so that I can control the levels and mute what I'm not using. Currently I'm using Cubase SX to interface with Guitar Rig2 (guitars / analog sax) and Reason 3 (my windsynth). My original setup used an analog mixer with the mains going out to a single channel on the firepod but the setup was a little too noisy for me.
My question is that since my needs are very basic I might be wasting resources using Cubase. I'd like to know if there are other software applications that are more efficient CPU wise for my setup.
Thank you for your advice and expertise.
