Sennheiser E840 or E845?

Hi. I've been looking around for a budget dynamic mic to add to my collection and have been considering some T.Bone dynamics (MB85beta and MB78beta) from Thomann. Ideally I was after a Sennheiser E840 but these are more than double the price of the T.Bone mics!
Today I saw a Sennheiser E845 for £30 which is my budget and I'm wondering how this compares to the E840? Which is better out of the E840 and E845 and would these be better than the T.Bone mics?

i'm new to this site...i was searching sennheiser reviews that i faced ur post...and i felt like having to answer u,... u know most famus mics have fakes like shure sm57 or sm58...but the brandnew senns seems to have less fakes...one of the fakes that i come across to it on the net was e845...yes it has fake version and be carefull,...and it should not be 30 pounds, cuz it is a higher model than the 80pound e840...in fact i really wanted to buy an e845 and it reallymatched my needs ..but i didnt just cuz i was afraid of getting a fake one...so garantee ur mic by buying a not-yet-faked model.
and also e840 are great and worth the money they get a clear live sound of the vocalist wether a male or female..and it's a pro gear.

Both the e840 and e845 would, I would say, be much better than a T-Bone.

But the 840 and 845 are very different mics.

The 845 is a super-cardioid and the 840 is a cardioid.

Basically the 840 is a bit of a bargain as it is very close to the 935 in quality.

The e935 and e840 have a response tailored for vocals in the same way as the old Shure SM58 does - tailored so that the vocal can cut through a backing band.

These are getting very popular nowadays, especially the radio version.

I bought an E840 a couple of years ago and since then have used it exclusively on my vocal live.
I also have SM58s and 57s, which get used on everyone else! (grin)

Great bang for the buck as John said - IF you can find one.

I bought 4 e845s a number of years ago. I recollect that I paid @ $72 each for them, new, including shipping. I have no idea what they currently street for. They are hotter mics than their Shure SM58 equivalent. I actually like the Audix OM5 or OM6 better for dynamic vocal mics. The e845s are also hotter mics than the Audix. OK mics. IMHO, nothing to write home about. I've given them all away to friends in need.
