I've got a song recorded its 9 tracks, but everytime I try to send a VST effect to say track 2 (snare) it goes to all 9 tracks. I'm sure its a simple button I'm not clicking but how to I send VST to each track individually for editing? In Cubase SE

Thanks (and sorry for silly questions)

What types of effects? Are you using them as "Insert" effects or "Send" effects. If you only want the effect on that channel/track (like compression, distortion, etc.), use it as an "Insert" on that channel. Effects that you want to make available to more than one channel/track (such as reverbs, chorus, etc.) should be used as VST send effects. They don't automatically affect the tracks, but you have to activate them and decide how much signal to send through them.

I'm still not sure how to use it as a "insert"...

Sorry... I'm new to this software recording world

you don't send effects to tracks, you send tracks to the effects

ok either way, can anyone tell me how to do it please?

It should all be described in the manual (help menu). Here's a pic of what it looks like in Cubase SE. You have two places to put effects: either the insert on the individual channel, or in the VST Send Effects, which are available to all channels.

Thanks! I finally got it, I seem to be overlooking simple things.

Thanks for helping out a digital newbie
