Hi,
I'm a new member, and I'm not sure if this is the correct forum for this question, but here goes anyway....
I'm having some trouble picking up a signal from a Washburn festival series EA20. The pickup on it is an Equis Gold (can't see anything more than that written on it), and the outputs are an XLR (Balanced, Low-Z) and what is presumably a balanced TRS (Hi-Z) (or possibly this is an unbalanced TS output... I got the guitar second hand years ago so have no info on it).
The guitar's TRS output is working fine (although a bit hissy) when connected to a balanced mic XLR input (on my computers audio interface - a Tascam US122 for anyone interested). However, when I connect the guitar's XLR output to the same mic XLR input I get nothing at all. I can't find any data on the output levels that the equis gold produces via the XLR output so I don't know if the output is just very low, or if it's broken.
To give you the full info, the XLR mic input i'm using has an input level of -54dBu to -16dBu, and its impedance is 2.2k(ohms).
I'd like to be able to record via the XLR output from the guitar, so if anyone could give me any advice on this I'd appreciate it!
Thanks
HDM
