Hey everyone,

EDIT: Genre is Metal/Rock

I posted here sometime last year with a song and got some exelent feedback that has helped greatly. I haven't got around to remixing the previously mentioned song however I've used the advice I got regarding that song to help with a new one.

Biteythegiant's sounds on SoundCloud - Create, record and share your sounds for free

The new song is called 'End of the Line'

Any feedback regarding the recording, the mix and general quality of music would be awesome.

I should probably note that the drums on this track are midi through Abbey Road 60s Drums however you can probably tell :P

'See you in Hell' was the song I mentioned previously that has not been re-done yet.

Cheers

I dont listen to metal, so I cant really make any genre specific comments...

I would like the vocals to be a bit more "in your face" though, maybe more compression, a little higher in the mix, something else too perhaps...
Also the delivery on the vocals could be a little more aggressive I think.

With perhaps the right reverb on the drums they wouldnt stick out and say "MIDI" so much ;)

I liked some of the guitar work.

Awesome,

Yeah I dont know a whole heap about compressors except for what I read in the newbie forum here but I'll do some more reading up on them and work on that.
In terms of the aggresiveness, I'm inlcined to agree with you, however our singer tends to sound like a wounded panda when he tries too hard to be aggressive (he's getting better though).

for the reverb do you think just making it a bit roomier would help? I'll play around with general reverb anyway.

Hi,

I gave a listen, and two things stuck out to me...the drums need to be a lot more powerful, and the vocals have a little too much noticeable delay on them. For the drums, I'm not sure if they are real or not, they sound real to me, but I've been fooled before :) Either way though, I'd get some parallel compression going on those bad boys and get that rhythm section tighter and more modern sounding. Parallel compression would help I think, as well as maybe some gated reverb on the snare. Vocally, I'm hearing the delay very clearly, and generally I think it's better to have the delay in there, but just at a level where you can't really hear it in the mix, but you miss it if it's not there. You might have already done this, but time the delay to the tempo of the track. That will help too...if you haven't already, just look up a delay time calculator and plug in your tempo to get some delay time options. The delays and verbs in my DAW offer a sync feature that does this automatically, but not sure if yours does...

Good luck with that wounded panda...lol.

Best,

Dave
