I had finally got my rooms noise floor to a satisfactory point. Now my more sensitive mics are picking up faint screams and Gnashing of teeth, and the occasional druidic chant. Come to find out It was comming from a hole in my floor that flames seem to come out of ever so often.

Anyhoo, the priests I have consulted with are telling me that I have no problem and an exorcism isnt nessesary, but as soon as they leave it all starts up again.

Should I follow the advice of the priests or should I just get out like all the voices tell me?

Hellfire destroyer

Hi, well this is where you have to pull out the big guns. Buy or rent a TC Electronics
HF-D1000 Hellfire Destroyer. Run into an aux return on a mixer. Eq to Max LO-and Max Hi freq. Cut all mids(they thrive on mid's)Run through a digital delay with a preset that has 5.6ms delay set at eternity. Run directly into a 1000 watt mono amp set to (10) on power output, with amp output feeding a 10" Guitar spkr. Point spker directly into hole.Stack concrete blocks around speaker to form box. Record President Bush speaking the word "evildoers" and crop it in editing program. Crossfade 2 copys with one copy reversed. Set up reverb plug in with maimum early reflection, and an RT-60 at 10 minutes. Play through channel strip. Pre set Master Mono line out at +10dbu, set aux input fader at same. Insert HF-D1000 into Master mono. Set HF-D1000 preset to KILL. Pre test channel trim by increasing level till concrete blocks start to vibrate. As you approach this point, solo adjacent channlel, or something to cut input. Rewind to beginning. At exactly midnight, punch in input, let run till exactly sunrise. Remove blocks. Apologize to neighbors. Pay fine for excessive noise abatement. Promise the lord to never use a radioshack mic ever again, and I think your problem will be gone.:D

I tried the Bush thing, It just seemed to encourage them to get louder. Its like he is a god in hell or something. The only thing that seems to help is Recordings of Ashcrofts Barbershop Quartet being played Backwards.

why not invite them up to sing harmonies?? :)

cheers
John

Maybe you should cover the hole with a double layer of sheetrock with a layer of OSB board sandwiched in between using steel stud construction and resilient channel AFTER you stuff a Jon Gale bass trap inside (covered with fire rated fabric, of course). Cover the whole mess with a louvered closet door with 703 board glued to the back for some amount of diffusion! Don't forget plenty of caulk.
Make sure this structure is not paralell to any other surface or standing waves could be a problem!
Have I covered all the key points?

Good advice, but before I seal it up I would like to use it to make a few People go away. Like those kids that allways cut through my yard.

John?!?!

Im afraid that Ashcrofts Barbershop quartet belongs down there and I would never consider them as backup singers. I have found that for 3 hours in the afternoon they are perfectly silent. Councidentally thats the same three hours the Rush Linbaugh radio program is on.

Drop a contract in the hole! Call it Gizmo and the Druids. Release a cover of "Will the unholy circle be unbroken?" The druids work for 2% gross flat residual, no mechanicals.-Richie
