Seagull Guitars

I have seen several good comments about Seagull accoustic guitars - but no specific references to model numbers, etc.

There is a store in my area that will carry Seagull - reportedly the first shipment will arrive in the next couple of weeks (haven't we all heard that before). I've never touched a Seagull and I'm looking forward to possibly buying one.

I'm hoping some of you can give me more specific pro/cons about any given models.

I'm a drummer who spends a fair amount of time working on guitar chops, but I'm woefully ignorant when it comes to the tech side of guitars - although I've learned a lot reading posts from the brilliant guitarists (an oxymoron???) on this site.

So, any input is welcome and appreciated.

The Seagulls are probably some of the best cheap guitars. But if you are looking at cheap guitars I would check out the Taylor Big Baby. It is less than $300 and blows away the Seagulls that I have tried.

I have a seagull s6+ spruce dread......I love my s6+ spruce and get a great tone out of it..plus it's setup perfectly..

and taylors are sweet also of course....it's really up to your preferences

I've played a "flock" of Seagulls in my local stores...
I thought they were great acoustic/electric guits....nice warm tones and good quality craftsmanship and material...

The electronics inside are a little funky but, sound nice with a warm acoustic amp...

Tex, I like everything about the Big Baby Taylor except for one thing...
the set screws in the fretboard are a big turn-off to me...
But for a 15/16 scale guit, the ones I have played are sweeeeeeet!
There is one for sale here locally for around $225.00 (no case)..
If I could afford it...I would buy one...
The Seagulls I played were all around $900.00 to $1500.00...
Nice stuff...ya know?
