Hey guys
I need two overheads for a project I'm doing in a couple weeks.
I can get SE1's from my school thru a discount for something like $80/each
Then theres MXL603s on ebay for $65+s/h ..
Should I buy two SE1s, or should I try and use two different overheads for a little broader sound? Any other suggestions? I'm a little tight on money, but perhaps overheads aren't something I should skimp on.
Thanks!
Scott

2 AKG condensor mics .....

If it will help, I am selling a Studio Projects C3 and a 2 AKG C1000S small diaphragm condensors in the equipment sales forum.
The C3 is a 3-pattern mic (cardioid, figure 8, omni) that was reviewed in Pro Audio Review and received some good comments as to how well it recorded acoustic guitar and voices.
The C1000S is a multi-purpose "swiss army knife" condensor thats been around for quite awhile. I am selling these as I just don't use them.

emailed you bob

Anyone know anything about MXL993's? Has -10db pad and lo-cut. 200bucks for pair of em, sounds right pricewise?

I vote "Other". Studio Projects C4s and Røde NT5s are my favourites in the budget price range ...... with C4s being the ones I chose to buy.

Mk012's...I love em. They're quite versatile and they sound great as overheads.

Are you sure you want SDC's? Think about a pair of SP B1's...
