need some feedback. I just recently recorded this band. i've recorded metal and punk bands, but this the the first screamo band.

The mix is a bit unbalanced, esp the snare. You might suggest singing lessons, but you might not get paid.... :(

not exactly my taste; but here goes -
drums are too prominent/thick, guitars are very far in the background.
vocals sound good during the singing parts, but the cookie monster stuff
the volume goes too far down for it to be effective.
( I don't get it, frankly if you can sing like the rest of
song, why would you add the noisey stuff? - might just be a taste thing)

thanks for the feedback. I figure that the guitar needed to be higher in the mix. and the drums need to be lower in the mix.

the melodic vocals are too loud and the reverb is cheesy. i don't hear any bass so i hope there isn't one. the mix reminds me a lot of mid/late 90s emo so its got some character to it that i like.. but the vocals are blah.
are the guitars direct? were the drums recorded with one mic?

no bass has been recorded yet. the guitars are miked with two sm57. the drums I used sm57 on snare, sm and floor tom. Audio Technica pro 25 for kick and an AT2020 condenser for the overhead.

This reminds me why sometimes its good to shelve a mix for a few weeks and then go back and listen. Drums are way too loud compared to the guitars and the bass is almost non existent. I actually liked the Tasmanian devil vocal part, kinda funny and different. Thanks for the listen.

i also recommend to loose the reverb but the band wanted it. thanks for the feedback guys
