ok i installed it but im not sure how to record what inputs do i use? can i use inputs on the ir drive? like the aux? or the spdif?
and one other question when installed the ir drive there was something in the instructions about connection power adapter to it from the computer......but it doesnt explain from where! i dont even knbow if its hooked up right, please elaborate if you know what im talking about.
 
that link could be valuable...i think that's where i got my wdm drivers for my soundblaster.

if this is about the live drive 2 which comes with sb platinum, then yes you have to connect your power supply to the drive...same type cable that is connected to your floppy. if you have a standard pc, you should have some free power cables available....and the supplied ribbon cable should connect the live drive to the sb..once you've connected everything...it's just a matter of getting some drivers loaded for things to work.

Alchuck, I don't know is that deserved a LOL because when I bought my SB Plat I didn't know much about hooking it up either, I called tech support and they walked me through it and were very helpful.

Sorry about the LOL, it's just that I have always heard nothing but contempt and bad reports about Creative Lab's Tech Support. My own experience about 15 months ago was consistent with that. (I should add for fairness' sake that I was running their card alongside another so the possibilities were wide open and they probably didn't want to get into it). I'm glad you got help from them.
