saving audio in sonar 2

hey there,

just wondering if there is any difference with audio quality when saving an audio bundle as apposed to saving in 'normal' mode in sonar 2. Why do they have a choice, is there any difference?

Normal mode means that the Cakewalk project file contains pointers to the audio data, which are in separate files in SONAR's audio data directory. Therefore, the Cakewalk file itself is very small, and if you move it alone to another computer, without bringing all the relevant audio files along with it and keeping the relative path to them the same, you get a porject with no audio data.

A bundle is a way to package all these pieces together in a single file, which is therefore more easily transportable to other machines, aside from the fact that it can be too huge to fit on a CD-R... If you open a bundle file, it's unpacked and the audio data is copied to the Cakewalk audio directory.

There is no difference in quality between bundles and the project and its individual data pieces; they are identical once opened up in Cakewalk.
