Hey,

I just did this in the last few days. I know it needs work. Mostly on the vocals. Any advice on this would be appreciated.

I think the kik's too loud, too, but I'm not sure.

Thanx.

SAVE YOU NOW

The vocal harmony and tone on "Who's gonna save ya" at 1:12 and later is excellent.

Thanx XLR,

I'm putting up a new mix in a few minutes. The back vocals are too loud, as is the kik and the lead vocals needed more mixing.

Sounds pretty good to me. Kick may be a little loud, but just barely. I think the vox are pretty good. I think I could stand to hear some vocal harmonies during the verses. Maybe alternating lines or during the "wise old guy" section. Nice tune though. Great guitar tones.

Hey Greg, you're a genius. I took that sentence and tried "alternating lines IN the "wise old guy" section!!! Starting in the second chorus (I didn't do it in the first). Thanx man. :)

Its a good tune and a good mix. Nice and clear on the vox, I can hear every word.

PS. Strange ending. I like it.

Yeah, it does end kind of abruptly. It's still a work in progress, so I might have to do something about that. Thanx alot for the listen, David.

I also have to change a few things in the verses. Greg gave me an idea to try some harmonies on some lines, and I think it's going to work. I also don't like some lines, weather it's the words, the phrasing, or just the way I sing some of them. But I get the "cringe" factor a few times in this song still. It's far from finished.

Your songs just rock. Period. This is a great song and doesn't need a whole lot more work. I like the ending and maybe you could just add that one last little note on the bass.

I think what I like the most about your songs is your attention to the details. I wish I had that kind of tenacity.

Cool man.

I like the unresolved cadence ending.
There's a really cool edge to some sections of the vocal - I really like that too.
C'mon - the bass sound - it MUST be more than just a good bass plugged in...oh, keep the secret.
The changes to the harmony/bvox are terrific.
My only nit is the length of the tail on the 1st trem - it seems a little lengthy - the subsequent ones are more succinct.
REALLY, REALLY excellent!

Good song Rami, I'm not getting the cringe factor as you call it... That new guitar sound - kind of a tremelo thingy - sounds pretty cool...Bass and drums rocka s always. Good harmonies... I'll let you work on this as you mentioned above, but it sounds pretty much complete now...

I wholeheartedly agree! With everything except the 'oh, keep the secret' part. I say we all chip in our money, make a pilgrimage to Montreal, hunt him down and beat him like the dog he is until he tells us how he gets that bass sound!

Ok, maybe not... but... DAMN!!!! Does he HAVE to keep the secret???????

Thanx alot, Chili. I don't know why I didn't think of just adding that last note. I guess it was too bvious. :D I will definitely try that.

Thanx, Ray. The tremolo part that you're talking about is longer the very first time. It was the only time I hit a note that works through both chords. But I see what you're saying.

Thanx alot, Ido. That tremolo was actually supposed to be a wah-wah. But since I don't have a wah pedal, I tried to get as close as I can with the phaser on my stomp box.

Hehe...I love you guys. I swear I plug my bass straight into my Focusrite pre-amp and record with a very little compression. I get it to cut no more than 2DB on the lower notes, and not compress at all on the D and G strings. Usually, I then bring the bass track into my PC and add some compression. But for this song, believe it or not, I didn't even compress after. I liked it the way it was. I think it also has alot to do with the volume and tone knobs on the bass itself. I do alot of tweaking of those to try and get the right sound for the tune I'm working on at the time.

I think maybe it's the BC bud.

Ah, the wisdom of the bud!
Consume the bud to achieve the getting of wisdom...
adj "budwiser"

I think the kick/snare could be louder.

Very cool chorus, dude - especially the guitar sounds.

I think a few more layers of rhythm guitar tracks during the verses would give it a little more depth. But that's just my tendency.

Maybe following the bass part at the very end with your snare would give the song more of a "period" at the end instead of a "comma", if you know what I mean. Although, it works well when you've got the media player on loop.:D

Another great tune, I like this.

I really like the abrupt ending, it's unexpected but seems to fit (for me). It's kinda like: "Who's gonna save you? NOBODY. Bye. ;):p"
