I'm sure I'm not the only user of this forum who has bought a number of instruments over the years whilst somehow avoiding one particular instrument which in actuality is what I should have gone for for a few guitars earlier. I've had a hankering for one of these for over thirty years and yes they are depending upon opinion, over priced which is why I probably convinced myself it would be no better than a lot of guitars costing a lot less. Yes there are better finished guitars costing way less, there are also all the reviews I've read over the years which vary greatly. And when I finally get the point where I can work my socks off to own a brand new one, I have to consider if I want a Richlite, fingerboard on an instrument costing this much. I've researched it and came to the conclusion I'd have to play one and make up my own mind. I did and within five minutes decided the guitar amounted to more than just materials put together, I was honestly trying to convince myself not to buy one. The sustain is unlike any other guitar I own, regardless of pickup swaps and so on. It's also quite pretty to look at.
