What uses have you found for your Sans GT2's?
I like it for DI recording, but haven't found a usable setting through either input or effect loop into a guitar amp.
Has anyone found any combination of pedals/effects in conjuction with the GT2 which make it usable through an amp?
I know...I know... I know... It's not what it's designed for, but I've read on other boards where people use them as distortion boxes, but I just don't see it...
Well Well Well Ryhan,
Some hot reponses there man!
Okay to anwer your question, Yes I have found ohter applications for the Sans GT 2:
It has been mentioned often before by other people and I totally agree with this: The Sans GT 2 excells at clean sounds. It is very good at "emulation" Fender sounds. Now it just gets close to the Fender sound, but as mentioned before, just forget about the ampmodeling game, dial in a sweet tone and there you go.
HOWEVER.......................aghum, there wouldn't be a but eh?
NOw what I said before works well with transitor amps, as the Sans creates the idea of a valve amp. So it you already play through a valve amp, forget it, as it may just muddy up your sound.
Another thing is: you need to be careful with your settings of your amp and the sans, just listening closely, and ask yourself what is missing in your original sound, and then start using the sans to compromise for the "problem".
As far as other pedals in conjunction with the Sans, I tend to use a tubescreamer, and the "logic" here is: Tubecreamer adds more boost to tubeamps, Sans works as a "valveamp" so your whole sound ends up more "valve sounding". Does it really sound like a valve amp? Well I own quite a few different original valve amps, varying from small ones to stage ones, and I have done a lot of A/B tests, and I do come to the conclusion that the Sans comes very close. Off course it does not do everything, and also I am not talking about STAGE performances, no, this is all studio environment setting, but anyway....................think the SAns do sound good.
You did not mention the Sans bassdriver, but that one is also good at creating a good clean sound, the drive knob just adds more punch and bottomend, same as with the GT2. In fact ALL Sans's boxes sound very similar, just some will go further than others.
So what kind of amps are you using Ryan, are they large ones, or just little amps, valve or................................???
