Samson Servo 200

I have the mbox 3 mini as my interface. However I wanted to buy an amp as well to help with my sound and monitor channeling.

THE SAMSON SERVO 200 LOOKS LIKE IT CAN SUFFICE FOR WHAT IM TRYING TO DO. WHAT DO YA THINK?



ALL I DO IS RECORD MY VOCALS OVER MY INSTRUMENTAL TRACK. MIX, AND SEND THEM OFF FOR MASTERING. I DONT HAVE GUITARS OR ANY OTHER INSTRUMENTS, I DONT MAKE BEATS...NOTHING...JUST SIMPLY RECORD VOCALS.

ALL I WANT TO KNOW IS WILL THIS SETUP BE FINE WITH WHAT IM TRYING TO DO?

Oh no Mr. Bill!!!! The servo series are ***power amplifiers*** for driving speakers. I can't think of a better way to blow up your entire signal chain. You are looking for a microphone preamplifier, which you probably don't need. The Mbox has preamps built in.-Richie

I don't know how the OP would hook up a power amp so that it would blow things up... what are you imagining, RM?

I have a Servo 120. Had it for years. It's been pressed into duty as a small monitor power amp, hi-frequency power amp in a bi-amped speaker setup, and is currently the power amp for my home audio sub woofer. Going strong, all these years. I'd say the Servo series amps are fine- but you probably will do okay with the 120, instead of the 200.

Just don't hook 'em up like Richard Monroe is thinking- whatever way that is.

If you're looking for a power amp to drive your speakers, the Samson Servos are fine for the money. I specced a Servo 120 for a youth club I was helping out (they wanted to get into music recording) a few years ago and it's still going strong despite a ton of abuse from teenagers.

However, if Richard Monroe is correct that you're looking for a microphone pre-amp then no!
