Ok guys, I narrowed my search to two microphones.
I wanto buy my first microphone for doing vocals and I need your
opinion on which microphone to choose between these two?

Samson c03u or Blue Yeti

They are around the same price range...
Btw instead of c03u I could buy c03 and additional XLR to USB adapter.

Thanks!

If you really MUST purchase a USB microphone then go with the YETI.

well i think i rather buy with usb than a xlr mic which must have a preamp with atleast the same price as the mic... :(

Then the Yeti will do you fine but only if your just going to record say like a single vocal or such. For when you get into multi tracking with an USB microphone you'll notice that latency issues will become your enemy!

But if you use an XLR mic with a USB or Firewire audio interface, wouldn't you still be likely to run into the same latency issues? I only ask this because I had terrible trouble with a nice condenser mic (Rhode NT-1A) and an Edirol firewire audio interface; latency like you wouldn't believe. I then went for a Samson CO1U usb mic and, while it's a long way from perfect, it works consistently well with my Mac/Logic setup.

I think you can cut down maybe get rid of it entirely some of the latency issues by changing a few settings on the recording program you use or some have settings that will recognizes latency and alters the playbac according to how much latency I have done it with sonar x1....... From what ive read the Samson c03u is better for vocals the yeti has a wider range of things it can record but the co3u is more for vocal recording then anything
