Howdy folks. Well, I just built myself a new DAW and the old AMD 650 with Gadget Labs 8/24 has been put aside to make way for my new P4 2.53GHz system with a Lynxtwo card.
Anyhow, I'm in the process of checking out software for my new system. I was previously using Vegas Audio 2.0, since I didn't need midi and I really like the interface. But now I want to start doing midi stuff and I've downloaded demos for Cubase SX, Sonar 2.2 and Samplitude 7.0. After spending some time with each one, I'm definitely most impressed by Samplitude - the others seem like toys in comparison really (granted I haven't gotten that deep into them).
So, I don't have my new card yet and the demo will only let me play back 1 minute of music at a time, making it a little difficult to do any serious testing. So, has anyone here run Samplitude 7.0 through its paces yet? If so, what are your thoughts? I can do a competitive upgrade for $450, but thats still considerably more than either SX or Sonar.
Thanks for your input.
