I am using a Tascam US428 DAW with the latest drivers and have Sampletank 2.5 installed with the latest updates. I am having issues I never had before with Sampletank 1.1. Using a MIDI controller with ST 2.5, in the middle of playing and recording MIDI notes while listening in real time, it will crackle and hesitate at random. Also, about 30 seconds into the recording, all notes I record are "dumped" on top of each other. Has anyone else had this issue? I am beginning to think my MIDI ports are bad on my DAW, but have not installed ST 1.1 to confirm it (haven't used my unit in a few years). I want to upgrade anyway, but I really want to know before I do this. I am thinking about the FW unit from tascam with the motorized faders... YUM! Any ideas?

I finally found out what the problem was... it was what I least expected.. isnt that the way it always goes?? The dadblame latency was set too low. What puzzles me is this is a new computer with a lot newer parts than my previous one- I didn;t have this issue with my last computer... strange. At any rate, I will be routing my midi in with a USB direct cable instead of through the tascam DAW. Problem solved... I think!
