Lately, Whenever I start a new project and use a template format, which I usually don't but anyways, a little window pops up and says: "Samplerate could not be set. This may be due to the sampleclock being set to external sync."

However, when I use an empty template, the window never pops up. So, is the sample rate still messed up when I use an empty template and it just doesn't tell me? If so, how do I fix this problem?

If the samplerate is set to external, and you are not feeding it a clock from an external source, it will give you that message. It can't set the clock because you aren't feeding it one.

The way to get around this is to set up a session the way you want, and save it as a template. Then use your template in the future.

Did you install new sound card? If yes, there might be a chance the samplerate change from 44.1 to 48.

to solve it, change to ASIO Multimedia Full Duplex. Hope it helps.

I just checked the setup on my firebox and it says it's clock source is internal.

Right, but what does your session say? Both the session in your DAW and your interface need to say the same thing. When they don't, you get the error.
