what's up everyone... i've recently started to try and teach myself cubase sx, and i've noticed that every once in awhile i'll get a pop-up window that says "The samplerate has changed to 22050 Hz"... why does it do this automatically? sometimes it'll just pop-up out of nowhere, and other times it'll pop-up when i try loading projects... i'd like the samplerate to stay as 44100Hz, and i can't find out where to change the samplerate back either... can anyone help me and explain how to change the samplerate back to 44100, or even how to avoid this pop-up window? any help would be much appreciated... thanks...

Reasons why it may change:
1. You switch to another app that wants to run at another samplerate.
2. CPU is about to go ballistic, although I've never had this happen at 44.1kHz, with me it usually happens when using 48kHz or 88.2kHz and mostly when I overload the CPU on my UAD-1 card.
3. Cracked software.

Where to change it back:
Go to Project Settings. This is where you set the samplerate, bit rate, time/duration and some other stuff for the current project.

thank you very much.

How would you guys know that cracked software might change the sample rate? I doubt that's the case even if you are running cracked software.

Anyway, as mentioned, if you use another app that has a different sample rate setting, when you open a Cubase project the sample rate will be changed to that projects sample rate. Also, if you save a project in Cubase at a different sample rate than what the current settings are for the sound card, the sample rate will change when you open that project. This applies to Cubase templates too.

I don't know for sure if it does or not. Now that I think about it, I don't think that it would, but I have heard of cracked versions doing some crazy stuff, thats all. :)

Well if your soundcard is a soundblaster, you would have the same thing happen. Soundblasters ONLY support 48k

Travis has the answer correct, I dont have cracked software and it will change like that.
