sampler vs. sound module

would a sampler be a better option then a sound module ?
I mean, i have the JV1010, and if i go on the
AKAI Z4, can i get rid of the JV ?

can the Z4 give me all he goods of the JV + more ?

I know the Z4 comes with all the sounds of the S5000 and the S6000 ( and another 4.5Gb of sounds)

would that be enough for starters ?

well .. now i got another option

I can buy a used Roland S750 sampler for 300$
and still keep the JV1010

so, would that be the best option ??

A Yamaha A3000. ;)

No, honestly, I don't know which one of the two is better, but the Roland specs aint that impressive...

Make sure you get one with a HD, though (goes for both) and if you get an A3000, make sure it has v2.0 of the software.
 
Samplers can be a great tool, but to compile a good sample library can get very expensive (useing third party software). There are many good samples out there - but there are also some dogs (I've got a few sample disks I bought that are completely useless).

Trying to compile your own library can be very time consuming and more than a little difficult (getting good samples with seamless loops ain't all that easy.)

Like regebro said - sampler vs. module depends on what you want to do. When I do post production and I need sound effects in precise spots I plug in the samplers. If i need a synth pad or a piano bed track, etc. - I find it much easier to dial up a sound on a module.
